D9/1 - Local 9 mile TT course and road race venue
The D9/1 course is used in local road races, and time trials - specifically our Thursday evening events.
The course is circular and anti-clockwise meaning all corners are left turns with the traffic as opposed to over it.
The course runs from Denbigh to Llandyrnog, across to Aberwheeler, Mold Road, back to Denbigh and the bypass back to the beginning. Below is a small map of the course showing a height profile as well - to see a larger version click on the image.

The course runs over 9 miles (14.4Km) - below is a rough description of the course for those who have not ridden it before:
0km - The course starts with a downhill and then a flat culminating in a bridge over the river Clwyd, at this point you can see the climb ahead;
2.5km - 'The Wall', now at 29m you are now looking at a short but quite steep climb to a corner;
2.8km - Now at 50m the climb levels out a little into a false flat and you continue towards the turn;
3.8km - Roundabout, left turn - you are now at 64m - a brief rest from the climbing gives way to more as you continue north;
5.7km - You have now reached the highest part on the course at 87m around the turning for Plas Ashpool;
8km - The route continues fast downhill with some tight turns followed by Aberwheeler and some rough road surface bends before the junction with the mold road at 37m;
9.6km - Progress along the mold road towards Denbigh is shallow rise and fall until the bridge back over the river Clwyd at Pont Ruffydd where you move up to 22m;
10km - Turning at 'Blue Hand' climbing and turning to the left, road surface getting rougher to turn at 41m. The road from here past the school to the roundabout has a rough surface and is a slow climb;
12.8km - A climb in the final meters to the roundabout at 50m, taking a left onto the bypass;
13.6km - The first stretch of the bypass is downhill dropping to 42m, this continues to approximately half way along its length;
14.4km - The remainder of the bypass now climbs up to the final roundabout at 40m - where a left is taken to finish just short of the start point.
