Yes it was a fine mornings ride.

I dont mind the shelf - really - its a challenge, and it doesnt get harder, even if its hot, and you feel rough like a bag of spanners.

There was no trek up to the Ponderosa - just down the "tea rooms time trial" over some rather loose road surface and past what seemed to be an emergency services 'get together after that first corner. Nice. Not the weather for protective vests though.

Despite almost a lengthy extension to the route home - a good mornings ride.

Meant to get warmer this week so I hear - and for anyone who didnt see TDF yesterday - mind those corners in this heat ... or more explicitly the barriers, embankments, bushes, and various bike transition activities.

SO - when are the 'away team' off to what I would have called "sunnier climbs" but I am not sure it will be... or maybe they will be riding up mountains like two wheeled extras from a desert movie.

....cue loud orchestra as you look up at the sun.

Oh, and while I am at it (posting randomly covering as many subjects as possible) - How many road worthy bikes are in your possession / household now Dave & Janet?
