Warning: This is a private computer system used to supply a service to VC Melyd Cycling Club

This computer system including all related equipment and network devices (specifically including Internet access), are provided only for authorised use. All computer systems may be monitored for all lawful purposes, including to ensure that their use is authorised, for management of the system, to facilitate protection against unauthorised access, to verify security procedures, survivability, and operational security.

Monitoring including active attacks by authorised personnel and their entities to test or verify the security of the system. During the monitoring, information may be examined, recorded, copied, and used for authorised purposes. All information including personal information, placed on or sent over this system may be monitored. Uses of this system, authorised or unauthorised, constitutes to consent of monitoring of this system.

Unauthorised use may subject you to criminal prosecution. Evidence of any such unauthorised use collected during monitoring may be used for administrative, criminal or other adverse action.

USE OF THIS SITE AND ITS RESOURCES CONSTITUTES CONSENT TO MONITORING FOR THESE PURPOSES.

Terms, Conditions, Other guff

Use of this system and related resources is under acceptance of the following terms:

1.User accounts are granted, and can be amended, or taken away (removed / edited / disabled). We reserve the right to revise these within reasonable scope (ie no 'all your base belong to us' or 'you owe us 50p' – but more along the lines of restrictions and added functionality);

2.Account creation is required to submit content. Accounts will be graded as AUTHENTICATED or CONTENT users. Anonymous posting is not permitted. CONTENT users are permitted to post stories onto the front page, AUTHENTICATED are not, however they can comment on these. It is suggested that all non news / announcement / results posts are kept to the forum area;

3.External content is just that – beyond our remit, we cannot be held responsible for external links. Users found posting links to deemed unsuitable material will have this content removed, and the right reserved to suspend the account – this is instantly world visible, and will live on in search engine caches for decades. Put some thought in before you post stuff, is it yours, is it copyrighted, is it suitable for family viewing and so on – it will after all have your name attached to it;

4.DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON A WEB SITE YOU DO NOT MIND THE WORLD READING. You would not put your bank details on here, so think again about your address, personal details etc.. YOU are responsible for your own account activities. While the administrator will put the brakes on anything he/she sees as foolhardy we are not a safety net, we are just a second pair of eyes;

5.DO ASK – if you do not know, or are in any doubt as to what you are doing then ask the webmaster, or another user. Feeling foolish for five minutes for asking is a bunch better than feeling foolish for a lifetime. See the Officials list at the top for contact addresses;

6.DO REPORT – any errors, peculiarities or the like to administrator;

7.The administrator reserves the right to amend / modify content as he seems fit. While the administrator cannot be held liable for content, he/she will change / remove / alter / move content as and when they see fit;

8.The use of this system and its resources for mass emailing attacks, or mass emailing submission to or servicing lists (known as “spamming “) or related advertising is prohibited and will result in account suspension and or (for outside users) tracking and further action;

9.Unauthorized access to this system (known as “cracking” or “hacking”) including use of vulnerabilities, code loopholes, or reverse engineering of any kind will result in action being taken starting with account suspension;

10.Account applications will be queued until okayed by the administrator, while every effort will be made to process these quickly – he/she will have a life and other responsibilities, please keep this in mind if you are feeling hard done by;

11.This website is provided as a free service for VC Melyd, and is NOT FOR PROFIT. The hardware and bandwidth are supplied by Netserve Consultants (http://netserve.co.uk) and related company Design Web (http://designweb.co.uk). The administration is supplied through the webmaster@vcmelyd.co.uk. By using this site you agree to indemnify, and uphold these concerns as not responsible for any loss, infringement, damage of any kind – since they are all really rather good chaps, mean well, and could do without the grief to be honest;

12.Disclaimer – The administrator of this server through VC Melyd will not be held responsible for any damages to you our your business. We make no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied for the services provided. We disclaim any warranty or merchantability of fitness for a given purpose. This includes loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, incorrect information, and service interruptions caused by the VC Melyd Website, the hardware, and related resources used in providing it;

13. We reserve the right to revise our policies at any time.

It's really kind-of-sad that you have to put things like that just in case someone decides that they shut their hand in the door and you were to blame. For the slightly better adjusted out there why on earth are you still reading this crap?!

Supporting acts by APACHE (http://httpd.apache.org) for web page delivery, PHP (http://www.php.net) for dynamic page rendering so it doesn't read like a brochure, and the MySQL (http://mysql.org) project for supplying increasingly good databases to store the stuff in to paint the pages with. Most of all to LINUX for being a freely available UNIX-a-like for me to base all this on and keep me in a day job.
