The Old Bwlch

For those interested and familiar with the Old Bwlch climb just outside Llanbedr DC, Ruthin. Cycling Weekly's regular "Killer climb" section covers this local nasty this week. The victim on this one is ex pro Dave Lloyd.
A few of us have done this climb a few times over the last few years and it does justify its reputation as a "monster" not for its length but mainly for its steepness.
In fact its probably wise for me to admit to stopping on the notorious hairpin which is mentioned in the article (because if I dont no doubt Alan will, as the only witness) on my first ride up it. It was more out of disbelief that it was possible rather than a physical defeat, I hasten to add ;) I now consider myself a seasoned veteran of the hill, along with Alan, Crabby and Janet. All of whom I have witnessed getting up it (PC did it in his bottom gear of 39:23, impressive) I am sure there is more of us who have done it, so I apologise if I missed you out.
