Sorry this has been a bit slow folks mad week in work!

What an event! Perfect weather helped considerably, apart from the usual quagmires the trails were in excellent condition for the Melyd massive.

Jan, Alan, Chris lord and myself had a crack at the offroad 50 miler whilst Dave rode the 70 mile rode ride ably assisted by 2 domestiques he commadeered in the car park!

The whole event was fun with an excellent atmosphere however there were a number of highlights...

Jan was given the job of chief navigator..fortunately her GPS was working fine..unfortunately she was too busy talking to pay much attention to it so we took a few unplanned (short) detours!

The true highlight came after about 22miles.. Some hillbilly sheep farmer in a landrover was getting really arsey with a bunch of Port sunlight/New brighton lads who were riding ahead of him, banging on the horn and swerving up on to the verge to pass them..pretty dodgy overtaking to be honest...so a couple of minutes later i wasnt suprised to see him being bloody minded parked in the middle of the single track road! as I pulled up along side he collared me and told me the scouse contingent had only nicked his car keys!I dont think he was very impressed when I told him they had done him a favour cos he was driving like an arse and was lucky he hadnt killed somebody!I told him not to worry as they would probably hand them into the police when they reported him! I think I honestly laughed up the next 2 hills! all in all a great day out hope to see more riders next year its only 50 miles and 7000ft climbed 5000cals burnt!
