According to a trainer planner I've been trying (not very well) to keep to. It suggests a almost full distance a few weeks before. So who's up for 70 ish KILLER?!?!?!?
Can you beleive your eyes...... me asking to do a 70+.
Does anyone have a number of a good Shrink!?!?!?!?

Ideal date May Day weekend 6th/7th or week after 13th.

Apparently it's good for the legs:)
Trust me!!!!

I guess that extending out the Sunday ride on the 13th would be the answer maybe doing somewhere around 90 miles would be the right sort of distance. Mind you its always going to be difficult to replicate the actual event unless you plan to ride up every hill possible on the way ! But its good preparation for a long time in the saddle.

After Tuesday's evening soiree up London Bridge and whilst consuming rather warm Erdinger at Saints, Dave Lee mentioned that he fancied this long one on Saturday and I hastily volunteered. However, on getting home I realised that I had a previous engagement. So sadly I am unable to do it. But Dave is up for it if anyone else fancies a 200k ride with an early start. Phone Dave for details or see http://www.aukweb.net/cal/index.htm

For some reason I am of the dilusion that its less about the time in the saddle and the miles, and more about the repeated uphill damage thats going to be the killer. I would be up for longer rides for sure - but would need a pass for the day thassall'. Where you have in mind, moores and then out Bala way? Fun Fun Fun. Hey and for the record way to go Paul, what have you been putting on your Shreddies?

Dave has given me a call - and pointed out that the link that you gave above has two big red C's next to the two routes. While this might mean there is a cinema, or a cafeteria or something no doubt far more entertaining available... it does in fact mean CANCELED, so be advised.
