Another Pre GFC Ride with the 3 Peaks Challenge team, assesing themselves. What started as a grimmish wet ride, turned into a belter. Avoiding the Llanrwst hill was a bonus, the climb to Swallow Falls not so bad, (I bet on the GFC it'll be different 50ish miles in) a welcome Cafe stop and dash back to the coast. Justin get's the star man Award for the day, helping Steve W home. Back to Rhyl I checked the total climb, was around the 3,900 mark, so still loads to do for the GFC!!!

That climb up beside the falls was nothing like as bad as I had imagined, reaching the big ring by the top.... I guess its just about the angle of incline, its a bit Nant Y Garth in that respect, slows you up, but doesn't keep on taking the will to live from you (providing the elements are with you!).

It was great to see Steve out again - lets have more of that:) Is he based in Rhyl now - I thought it was a LOT more West than that??

There is a whole bunch of above and beyond amusing hills out there out the back of Bala - an entire world of pain to be precise. Alan has talk of a proper pain ride possibly two weeks time I think? Words from our illustrious leader?

Just to put my two penneth in, if it's gonna be a monster, an 8am start would be ideal for me.
And allow plenty of extra Pain Time for Alan to inflict on us mortals!!!!!

He's suggested the moors etc, :(:(
