Annual General Meeting

Submitted by Anonymous Coward on Thu, 17/11/2005 - 10:30pm.

The AGM took place as stated Tuesday 8th November 2030, after what should have been the evening ride, neatly evaded after a day of rain and general winterness.

Topics covered were as follows:

Membership:
We currently have a roll of 46 riders, 35 of which have paid. It was discussed that we should move the payment due date to later in the year (1st May) so that we were all more bike minded. This years paid membership would tide us over until then.

Club Funds:
Club funds were discussed. Kit is on order, extra was purchased to avoid the expected immediate re orders.

Time Trials:
It has been confirmed we are looking to run a series of TT's on the 9 mile course next year. We are looking at drawing up a rota for marshalling, and a league. Points systems were raised, both for performance, improvement, and to ensure that those marshalling did not feel they were missing out.

Events:
It is planned to coordinate team entries and or awareness of other cycling events for 2006. Such to include, Wild Wales, Trail Quest, Audax.

Membership Fees:
It was discussed that the fees should be raised, and in receipt a card be given to the member to obtain discounts at local participating shops. Junior £5, Senior £15, Family £25. The possibillity of direct debit was mentioned.

Ride Formats:
Ride formats were discussed as follows - most breaking into two for proximity to summer and winter.
Tuesday: Steady shorter ride through winter chaingang in Spring
Thursday: Harder shorter ride. January onwards pushing up to 9pm chaingangs.
Friday: Longer steady ride starting at 2pm.
Sunday: 9am to 1pm mid distance ride stopping at a cafe, and being PROMPT start so arrival before nine a must, since the single largest impacting issue was time with family.
