Has anything got something thats likely to be able to remove a Campag' bottom bracket, standard ISO style in a fitting similar to what you would see on the outside of an SKS/FAG bottom bracket of old?

Answers such as a hacksaw, hammer, cutting torch (I mean you Justin and Dan) will be treated with what I will call "editorial privilege" ;)

I have a tool to do this job (powder coated matte black metal disk with rounded teeth on inside, and bolt head on back), and I remember seeing it in all the wrong places, and thinking "oh, I wander what it is doing there" - the answer was apparently "getting lost".

I don't think I lent it out - so just wondered if anyone had one... I have a suitably comically long spanner to do the turning with.

They appear to have changed the format twice since I put that one in - to an ISO format that you do up with the cassette lock ring removal tool (good thinking batman) - to the whole torque thing they have now where you don't have a bottom bracket as such - just a means to keep the crank arms apart.

Does anyone know that means when the bearings are shot the chainset is too? Its just struck me thats like a huge downfall to an otherwise seriously good bit of thinking.

Yours, with a BB with a little too much play in it... webmaster.

Miss-selling strikes again!

Tut tut!those bike shop salesmen have done it again! Ant they really should have told you those Ti Dynatech frames are disposable..when the bottom bracket wears out you throw the whole thing away!

Raleighs tech dept may be interested though as this may be the first case where the BB has outlasted the frame

Any issues with Fags proving hard to remove from your bottom-bracket area need to be addressed to Syd! he may advise on a suitable lubricant

How did I know....

You are lucky you made me smile there Mr Lewis ;) ... I have a button under your post that says delete.... or worse still edit!

I was going to start with Raleigh Special Products, and lifetime warranty - but its not worth it is it... no.

Can I take that as a no then from you ?

You are a nasty man :p

I have one for hire

why is a comment required when the subject line is sufficient?

"...Hello, is that yesterdays news?"

Cheeky monkey - are you kahoots with the Justin?

I would like to thank Alan for managing not to mock me and having an array of "the right tool" for me to use, and job now done.

With a story thrown in for good measure (Chris Lord and his frame full of water).
