Dan,
Just imagine...
Not 7th place but 1st!
Just imagine...
Actually fell off the bloody thing last night, couldn't get my foot out of the pedal.
She was unscathed, thank the Lord.
Enjoy the Chianti

Paul,
4th may have been on the cards if I laid myself totally on the line, and risked everything to a chase but equally that could have meant that I had done all the work to bring the pack up to the break and left myself nothing for a sprint. Did I make the right decision to sit up ? Probably not, but it felt like the right thing to do at the time. Who knows ?
Thats why I enjoy the races, theres always a decision to be made, always a weigh up between conserving energy or using it all at the right time. I am still learning.
Sorry to hear about your little incident. Thank god she was ok. Always fall to the left I say, fall on the cheap side. If it was couldnt unclip your foot issue check your speedplay cleats. They are faffy is shit to set up right (screw tensions etc)
If you ever need help sleeping then I can talk you through all the time I spent on mine getting them just so. Unfortunately the sypmton they are well renowned for if you dont set them up right is
a. Difficulty getting clipped in
b. Difficulty clipping out which is a bit more of a problem !!
I would explain on here, however as I have the reputation for being someone who spends more time than can be considered normal or indeed sane on keeping my bike and kit tip top, I think I'd be wise to leave it off.
Let me know if you are still having problems and I should be able to talk you through it (I even called speedplay up in California to help get things right). this would be particularly useful if you are having trouble sleeping ;)
PS. It happens to the best of em. Alan fell off his airbourne titanium when it was brand new, it was at zero speed, and outside a busy cafe at the bottom of Ruthin. I of course was only concerned for his safety and wellbeing and didnt piss myself laughing at all ;) Even when the cafe owner came out to see what a big lumox was doing lying down in his carpark.
PPS. Dont worry mate, the chianti will be taking a hammering you can rely on that
