The cycle path from Rhuddlan to St Asaph has been resurfaced thoughtfully by the council.
[rant]
The new surface appears to be made up from trimmed back thorny hedges.
I got in safe and sound it would appear (end of day will tell whether I picked up any slow punctures) - however there was a rather bemused looking guy on a mountain bike who appeared to have been trying to collect them all.
So - whats the plan - club invoice for tubes? Stinky letter in early in the season? In fact - is it the council who are trimming back the wildlife there? Do the same rules (who am I kidding) apply for leaving stuff on roads as cycle paths?

U Go Get 'me WM

...*ARSE*...
Bugger!
Nice fang...did you get Dr Lee to do the extraction...I think I recognise those pliers!
insult to injury...
You can add to the list of freshly trimmed bush:
- Stretches from Melyd to Rhuddlan;
- Road/path from Bodelwyddan to bottom of St Asaph Business Park.
...enjoy.
I am left a little confused since I pulled that out of my tyre, almost completely submerged, yesterday evening. They tyre, curiously, is still up. It's magic I tell you.
On the up side, its not as cold as they promised outside this morning, and its Aldi cycling specials day on the off chance they are doing ridiculously good jackets (for the price) again this year.
Speaking of fangs, there is a "Free Badger" available on the Glascoed Road just up from Pilks. If you don't see it you will smell it, its on the sunny side of the road.
Snigger!
I do like a freshly trimmed bush!
Can't beat a bit of topiary!...love the cat webby!..sick but funny!
Just worried about Jess now...she will have to be your target to beat up the hills now the Tandem's crocked for a couple of months!
Psyching out schoolgirls is unethical fella!
....
I seem to remember that quite unsurprisingly Jess was considerably quicker than me uphill - possibly something to do with having to move a third of my mass to move.
In other news, we got the badger moved, he had moved on quite a bit since yesterday.
The cat pic - old but good (even as a cat owner).
You do realise Justin that
You do realise Justin that the only reason you got in first with the response to "freshly trimmed bush" was because I was away from a PC.
And Webby, please do not pretend to be shocked and dissappointed with the juvenile double entendre that we have made from your original posting about punctures. You know as well as anyone that if you subtly tee up Mr Bentos and I with giveaways like "freshly trimmed bush" then you should expect nothing less than them to be belted into next week, anything less would be just plain wrong, and frankly grown up ;)
You tee em up, we'll smash em away
Thorny Issue
I know I'm a bit behind but I was busy sciving yesterday!!!
you mention arse, surley the thorn in question wasn't removed from yours???
Newly trimmed bush, I know a woamn who admittied to triiming hers in public, about 12 months ago I still remind her of her fau par'!!!

\o/ Hoorah.... Oh.
Today - much to my surprise, the cycle path had been swept. Okay so there were still stuff loitering around at the sides, but hell, on the whole - sah-weet. Thank you unnamed sweeper-upper-er.
However. My comrade and partner in work commuting had his first ever flat on a road bike while enjoying the process of navigating the St. Asaph underpass / roundabout.
Imagine his surprise when the rear wheel experience turned from traction and cushioning to something more akin to a train wheel on ice. His face was a picture.... as are these two which tell the story.
I feel the need to locate the sweep-er-upperer and point out "you missed one".
As you can see we had a few problems locating where the actual puncture was ;)
*Certified DEF (Double Entendre Free).
In my day...
In my day a sweeper upperer was to found in night clubs, skirting the edge of the dance floor at the last record looking for the aforementioned trimmed bush. This of course was in the days of skimpy white pants which rendered the bush detection equipment much simpler. Which it needed to be after 2 party tins of Grunhalle!
DEF detected me thinks!
If I remembered
If I remembered correctly if you were still sharking (as its now known)at last dance time then the odds of you copping for anything half way respectable was remote.
Nice to know we have dragged this innocent thread back into the gutter ;)
Allways satistying to know that when some random Net perv googles "freshly trimmed bush" hes going to get VC Melyd ;) Bet not many cycle clubs have that accolade ;)
Oh Dear!!!
I've got lots to say on this trimming the bush subject but have decided best not :-) Am I right in thinking this Sunday's club ride is a road ride at 9.15?
