Changes to user accounts

In an attempt to keep things tidy and clean I have taken two courses of action:

1. Users are split into three groups; administrators, authenticated, control users;
2. A forum for more diverse topics.

The standard user account is able to post comments, but not able to write their own page or story content. Control user accounts are allocated to club officials who can post and maintain their own content.

All users are able to post topics and follow-ups to the forum. I don't actually use forums (short of googling / trauling support forums for techy stuff) so its all new to me... kind of feeling my way in the dark, advice greatfully received. I have set up the mechanism, and am waiting to see how the structure I have set up copes with things. With this section here, I can also keep you up to date with any changes / ramblings without cluttering up the home site.

The goal behind this is to keep the main site as initially landed on by the public as clutter free and calendar specific as we can... I think thats the way to go.

So - questions, comments, banter - over to you.

You are unable to access.... but managed to post a reply? Maybe if you could help me to help you a little more?

Options are three fold (once you are logged in):

- Click link at top of page in banner bar - blue thing, bunch of them, one marked Forum;
- Click this link http://www.vcmelyd.co.uk/forum ;
- Click on an active forum from the green block on the right hand side.

You should then be greeted with (at least in the first two cases) a list of subject matter, and a list of active topics.

To add your own it should be a case of (assuming some muppet has enabled it (me)) clicking the option at the top that is what you need to do:

* My forum discussions;
* Active forum discussions;
* Post new forum topic.

... if you cannot see those, and you are logged in then I need to fetch my magic wand and get busy.

Some muppet didnt tick some boxes - it was kinda lonely in there. All authenticated users can now post and reply in forum.
