Club Dinner thanks.

Posted in

Last nighs joint club dinner with Rhyl cc was agreat sucsess .Thanks to the 55 of you that attended........Started with Jon persenting the Joint Time trial awards and Rhyl cc trophies and certificates ....Then on to a wonderful dinner provided by Steve Goddard and the staff at the Faenol Ffawr Hotel thank you.......Followed by the Melyd presentations. Club chairman Paul doing a magnificent job of master of ceremonies, calling on on Dan's sharp biting whit and Justin's aplomb in the hilariously entertaining presentation of the  awards......Just a shame they couldn't be trusted to present one of  the awards as I thought we had agreed.....The club man which they presented to me. I was truly shocked (how underhand of them) and emotional. I am proud to recive it though .It means much more than an Trophy you could win by training harder ,although I do feel there where more deserving candidates thank you. I enjoy being involved with V.C.Melyd,I would ride knowwhere near as much or as fast without you,and I definitely think I get a lot more out of the club than I put in . Thanks again to you all.

Echoing Al's sentiments

It was another succesful Melyd social event,  Big thanks again to Paul for the sterling MC duty, having done it myself for the last couple of years I know its not easy, and I have to admit I did dump him in it at relatively short notice.....Some very worth winners indeed, Mike as best newcomer was under pressure from Emyr and Dave Watt............ Thanks to Emyr for taking the Half wheel trophy in the good humour harmless fun spirit associated with the award.......Pete took the ribbing about Liverpool FC extremely poorly, as was predicted and planned :)...........   And yes we all felt that the clubman award was thoroughly well deserved.......I also feel the same as you Alan.......As Club treasurer I often find I "get a lot more out of the club that I put in :)"...........And yes that is a joke....;)

Oh Alan, you Big Softie

I must say, I love the banter at the club dinner, taking c**p from arm chair supporters . Well done to Paul, Justin and Dan, as usual doing the club proud with their good humour, presentations. And as for Alan winning the club man, I can’t think of a better winner, always a good road ride when Alan is with you, so well done Alan!  I had good intention of riding down to pick my truck up today but hang over and bike just didn’t work!

Dan and Paul

So sorry it's Monday and I'm reading the last post. So why did you make me ride? Went through a deep flood just outside Dyserth and the water actually warmed my feet! Probably the coldest & wettest club ride I've done and one that will stand in my memory if only because it was Dan's idea!

It must be the ?

Oops...scuse my tardiness...

Been out and about this week!.. Syds getting the first round in on the social ride, THEN Paul starts the kitty this year! Nice to see all this mud making a man of Dan at last, though he cried off on Tuesday which turned into a great ride, did the local loop, couldn't believe after the cliff there was a party of Spanish schoolkids climbing the quarry in the dark!.......Club do was ace, thanks to all involved in organising it, glad Pete got home ok - after falling asleep in the taxi!

oh and by the way...

Did Penmachno on the Saturday morning(Jase wussed out as poorly sick!) I felt fresh as a daisy!...note to self, drink more next year!
