We are planning a longer ride than normal this Sunday in preparation for the Marmotte. Usual Start time 8:15 meet for a 8:30 leave. Expecting to do over 100 miles, so be prepared for 6 + hours of riding. And of course there will be hills. Alan has provisionally planned a route which will take us west over the moors, Ysbyty Ifan etc etc. There will be bail out points as appropriate if you dont fancy the full ride.

Just to let those people who rode the piccies are on www.rightplacerighttime.co.uk
you search on your (or your mates number)

472 for Jase,474 Chris, 585 me etc

the event itself can be best summed up as lung busting climbs with very sketchy descents, mostly very slippery mud...two wheel drifts every where interspersed with off camber slippery and very sharp shale! crashes were plentiful but injuries minor!

It was a cracking event and all those who rode are up for making more of a weekend of it next year, poss taking in the climax trail on the saturday.

2008 / 2009 Membership is now due. The subs have remained the same as 2007 / 2008 at £15 for Senior membership. I will be sending out the membership forms via Email where appropriate this year, even if you have filled one out last year or in previous years we would prefer if you could fill one of the 08 forms out, as it has had to change a fair bit.

Results - 1st May 2008 - Evening 10 mile TT

Submitted by secret mile muncher on Mon, 05/05/2008 - 9:53pm.

The first evening TT of the year had a sunny, warm & windy evening. We had two new youngsters riding their first timetrial and producing very good times. The start was delayed by 5 minutes as Simon had a puncture whilst warming up, which was good for Phil A as it gave him a few more minutes to recover from a fast ride, rushing to make the start time. The motor traffic was very light and none of the 10 riders had any problems.

1 Gary Houlston VC Melyd 25'09"
2 Andy Malcolm VC Melyd 25'37"
3 Phil Price Rhyl CC 26'57"

Melyd has a strong presence in Denbigh RR

Really good to see 3 melyd jerseys mixing it up in the peleton in the Denbigh RR. Big up for Martin in his first race in North Wales chasing down breaks on his own and being an all round workaholic !
Great race, very well organised and structured. Shame about the rain on the last lap that made the final roundabout very sketchy claiming a few who inevitably left a bit of skin on the road !
I think the wind was too strong and maybe the race pace was a bit quick early on for one of Alans long solo breaks but another day maybe.
